Description
Hongcun Village is located on the south- west of the foot of Huangshan Mountain, 11 miles from Yi County in Anhui Prov- ince. The name of the village which is a bull-shaped antique one belonging to the Land of Peach of old Yi County symboliz- es expansion and prosperity. It has a long history of more than 900 years featuring green hills and limpid river. Therefore, people always call it "A Village In Chinese Painting, it's also the village for shooting the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", the water system is designed as water-buffalo's digesting system.
Description
Xidi Village is a well-preserved and time-honored ancient village in Huangshan City. In 2000, Xidi was declared a part of the "Ancient Villages in Southern Anhui" World Heritage Site by UNESCO, along with Hongcun Ancient Village. In Xidi Ancient Village, there are still 300 ancient dwelling left from Ming and Qing Dynasties, among them, there are 124 well-preserved. Hence, it got a very beautiful name "House- hold in Peach Blossom Garden".
Tunxi Ancient Street is well locat- ed in the center of Tunxi District of Huangshan City. With about 630 years' history, Tunxi Ancient Street is the best preserved old street in China.Besides, in 2009, Tunxi Ancient Street, won the great reputation of "Chinese Historical and Cultural Street". It also was listed among the "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units".
